About Me: My Computer
A computer, in the end, is nothing but an ugly machine, often with a strange grayish color, always with lots of buttons, a screen that kills your eyes off, and a too often bugfull operating system. But mine, of course, is special. Black and silver, LCD monitor, sound amplificator and, above all else, mine.
It has an 80GB hardrive of which I use a bit less than one fourth. On June 2nd, 2006, slightly after midnight, the My Documents folder contained 6,5GB, spread throughout 21,549 files located in
1530 folders. This includes the My Music folder, with 3,35GB for 1662 files in 260 folders. On August 16th, 2006, a few minutes before 6:30 p.m., the My Documents folder weighed 6,6 GB,
with its 22,426 files in 1603 folders. My Music was 3,4GB for 1689 files in 271 folders. For your information, my websites are not in the My Documents folder.
The programs I use the most are Mozilla Firefox for browsing the web,
Adobe Photoshop CS for creating
graphics and editing images, SciTE to create and edit web pages,
Winamp
iTunes to listen to music,
OpenOffice to create spreadsheets or compose texts,
FileZilla as
FTP and MSN Messenger
to chat with friends, mostly three friends in particular, including the man I love.
In order to code and test my websites, I use phpdev, a program that installs PHP, MySQL, PHPMyAdmin and more on my computer.
